This is a different mix then the stereo album version I have on CD. Jerry Yester's voice is almost buried in this mono mix.

Simply magnificent!

@harvey1954. It is Jerry. I have a few of his solo works and that's clearly his voice.

I always thought Joe Butler sang this, but now I'm leaning more to Jerry Yester. Really terrific tune for all those knuckleheads that try to write of the Lovin' Spoonful as a simple, little pop band.

One of the great unknown songs- beautiful melody and orchestration, It starts softly and slowly builds into a tremendous crescendo with the orchestra almost overpowering the vocals, followed then by a churning twelve string denouement. It was classic late 60's, with George Martin-type arrangements. Completely beautiful.

I'd forgotten about this song. I always loved it!
