  • Still no color TV in Australia by 1968?

  • @rascal211

1975 was our introduction to colour TV.

  • i heard yvonne died tragically a few years ago?......anyone know what happened??

  • I believe her husband at the time murdered her and consequently prisoned. This happened during the mid-80's. Wikipedia and an essential website called 'milesago' get more into detail.

  • Again Well Done nzoz..thanks for posting Yvonne on YT..She was so cool..she used to live behind my grandparents house in Braybrook. How cool is that!

  • Very cool!!!!

  • Great performer, great song and great era

  • Nice outfit! I didn't know her. Was she the Australian answer to Sandy Shaw?

  • @blueycarlton No kidding, it was called Never The Same Color. Somewhere during the early 70s PAL got better than that.

  • @rascal211

The Australian Govt did not want the US (NTSC?) system as the colour reproduction was not very good.

They waited until the superior European PAL system was fully developed. Test transmissions were in 1974 and fully intro 1975

The same with digital radio we waited, and have gone with the DAB plus system which carries more info than the standard DAB, and will be the world standard .

  • i'ts beatifull my preferite!

  • thanks for reply.
