Hey everyone welcome back to our TOS walkthrough. Somethings are noticeably different in this one. For one we are starting off with the AA at x3 so it looks less jagged. The old walkthrough looked crappy up until around part 57ish.

I also get much more content shown over the previous one. I do, however, miss Genis' first obtainable title due to being an idiot D: However I was able to capture around 1.8 times more stuff in Iselia that I had missed before. So it is give and take.

As with the FFV walkthrough things are going to go a bit faster since I have played a great deal of both games already and know where to go and what we need to do. I also change the color scheme for the windows in this walkthrough, twice because I forgot to confirm the changes the first time -_-.

As with the previous walkthrough, due to the way Dolphin's HLE audio re/decompiler works there are a lot of places where the sound has problems. Thankfully the voice overs are not one of the areas that do.

The reason this is so is because of the way that the GameCube translated data to audio. It is a proprietary code based system and so it is extremely hard to duplicate properly. There is a way to use the actual GameCube features for the audio processing, the LLE compiler/interpreter, however it takes a lot of CPU power.

Because of this I cannot use it for this walkthrough because my Q6600 does not have the strength to run both Fraps and the LLE at the same time without getting some horrendous lag. In fact it requires at least an I7, quad version, to be run properly at all even without Fraps (I was still getting lag without fraps running, the fps would never get over 45, 20 during battle). If I had the $1000 I7 six core it might have been a different story.

For the most part the voice overs are solid, no issues except for where fraps causes a bit of lag when generating new files. The world map music will almost never work properly. Battle music will not work properly and is even missing some instruments. The town background is hit and miss, it will work sometimes but not other times. Same for dungeon audio.

So with that out of the way, how you enjoy the walkthrough.

After the opening we are thrust into the view point of a kid named Lloyd Irving, a student in a small town called Iselia.

During class we see a blinding flash of light come from the temple. Raine, the professor of the school, states that it must be a sign of the Oracle which signals that the World Regeneration epic is about the begin once again.

  • Are you playing this on PC? If so, you really need to fix the sound, especially the music. It's really screwed up. Also, you took WAY too much time on the menu cutomization. You almost lost me on that part. In the future, try to avoid that by editing that out. Overall, this looks like a good walkthrough. I'm glad you don't have any annoying commentary or rush through the text like a lot of players do.

  • @infinitlycool Read the description. Because of the way that Dolphin operates the audio is messed up for TOS. There is no way to fix the issues with the HLE decoder. LLE will produce the correct music but my CPU is too weak to run both the LLE and Fraps at the same time. It requires at least an I7, preferably the six core version. My Q6600 can't take the strain though.

  • @infinitlycool Sorry about that, forgot I did not cover that in this description. I had to restart the walkthrough due to a hard drive failure. Will add that part back in right now, thanks for bringing it to my atteniton.
