Date: Wednesday 9 October 1996

Starts with the end of Auntie's TV Favourites, and then there's a promo for Clive Anderson's All Talk and then there's a slide for All Rise for Julian Clary, Shooting Stars and Have I Got News for You over on BBC Two. Then there's a promo for Panorama and a slide for Dangerfield. We then go to the BBC clock and into the Nine o'clock news.

  • He didn't believe it, of course.

This is actually Friday 11th October 1996, two days later than you say. Dangerfield feels more Wednesday than Friday, but it was indeed shown on Fridays at this point.

  • Can you upload the alphabet castle episode plus any alphabet castle promos you may have also any BBC News clips from the virtual era plus anymore citv clips

  • @davedavid86 They just did the evening news on random days/weeks, not in any specific order.

  • So what days of the week did Michael Buerk, Peter Sissons, Philip Hayton and Martyn Lewis do the Nine O'Clock News?

  • This is was on my sister's first birthday.

  • @hermy3041 You mean Third term. He was PM from 1990-92 and 1992-97 so he would have been contesting a third term. the Tory party itself would have beemn contesting a fifth term, because the Tin Bitch led the party through 2 and a half of those 4 successive Tory terms.

  • john major for 5th term lol.Nope.Its time for tony blair.

  • @RobinCarmody Well, would you believe it?

This was as the Tory government technically fell into a minority, John Major pedged that they must fight to stay in power after 1997.

    Must have been a good fight . . .

  • Hey Robin. Did you also see the ITN News at 5.40 intro which was recorded on this same day?

  • and ben edwards is the announcer
