Demonstration of horizontal mattress suturing technique for laceration repair or wound closure in the operating room.

These videos were created for educational purposes. While I have worked in surgery, I do not claim to be an expert on all surgical matters, including the various types of knot-tying and suturing techniques that are performed in these videos.

  • @kiran639 You don't have to watch it. Most folks, including me, believe that this was educational. She even says in her description that she is not an expert, but that does not make one an amateur either. Why don't you learn how to spell amateur correctly first before commenting? Why can't you just appreciate someone who has taken the time and effort to make this educational video free for the public use. Get a life.

  • Thank you !!

  • Thank you for the informative post. Nicely explained.

  • very amature

  • good demonstration but these days a 'no touch technique' is the preferred method of choice. As such the physician/Pa/Nurse should not touch the needle with their hands at any stage - minimising risk of a needlestick injury. Otherwise very good!

  • interesting. Im not a med student or anything just a kind of do-it yourself moron who wants to learn this kind of thing for an emergency but what is the flesh analog used?

  • Thanks so much for posting this- We are covering suturing today in my clinical skills course for 2nd year of PA school, and this is much more helpful than just seeing pictures in a book!!

  • excellent, I'm on my first surgical rotation this week coming where i'll actually need to suture. Your videos are amazing! thanks for that!

  • good explanation, thanks

  • I like how you USE your Forceps to grab the top of the DERMIS so you can stitch right into that shit!!!! Great job!! Great use of various vocabulary too!
