Beautiful looking car. I've heard of the Oldsmobile 98, but I've never seen any videos of any this vintage.
-
@BarbaraandHarold I so agree. That's why I prefer cars of this vintage than that of cars built today.
-
@MrSteve24fps 1964 also used the roto-hydramatic transmissions.... Another thing I never understood, was why that GM kept the Jetaway Hydramatic in the Cadillac, and the Pontiac Bonneville & Star Chief, but put this slush bucket tranny in the other Pontiacs and Olds models...

@MrSteve24fps ...oh yeah, the dreaded "slim Jim". My friend who worked for an auto transmission company literally made a fortune selling parts for them. Worst part of a beautiful car.
-
That is a piece of art! Love that car!

Nice car. Too bad it had the dog of a transmission, the slim jim.It too Olds 3 years '61,'62 and '63 before going back to a more reliable hydromatic.

How can you tell a 1961 Olds 88 from 61 Olds 98?

learned to drive in a Supper 88 '61

Gorgeous!
My Dad bought a new 61 Dynamic 88 when I was 12.
This really takes me back....the car I learned to drive in, went on my first dates in....this really makes me miss those times, that old car, and my old man...
Thanks for the great video

It's called an automobile. Many people living today have never seen one, much less driven a brand new one. The cars of today have no styling, unless of course you're into black plastic interiors and black wall tires. There's more chrome on the steering wheel of this Olds than an entire 2009 average car. By the way cars used to have bumpers too, remember that?
