Driving using Aachenbach method of rein handling (shown when the camera looks over the driver's shoulder); two-handed on the straight, whip held in whip hand. In correct Aachenbach the right rein should be transferred to the left hand for driving one-handed during application of the whip with the right hand. This is so use of the whip hand does not interfere with the horse's mouth.
This horse is 5 yr.old arabian-percheron cross. FYI, for those who listen carefully, we are ponying a second horse behind the carriage, so you will hear uneven hoofbeats when they get out of sync. Check out this other vid for his real trot rhythm, it's titled --Carriage horse rein handling Aachenbach turn-- We also drive him in pair with his brother, see other vids if you like.

haha far from upset. Just hate to see a waste of a horse :).

is this horse gaiting every once in a while? I hear a broken stride every now and then. If so, then a darn shame you keep pushing him to trot :).
