Een groot aantal festivals heeft de afgelopen jaren kennis gemaakt met de Powerfolkband Scrum. Telkens weer is het publiek, net als de band, ontzettend enthousiast. Inmiddels heeft scrum al heel veel fans. De band bestaat uit: Skottie, Marco en Robbin, Oscar, Frits en Maurits. Scrum is opgericht in 2004. De muziek die ze maken wordt omschreven als Powerfolk: Rock met Schotse en Ierse folkinvloeden, waarbij de bagpipe, de tin whistle en de mandoline een grote rol spelen. De band haalt zijn inspiratie uit muziek van The Dubliners, Flogging Molly en Dropkick Murphys. Scrum bestaat uit zes gedreven muzikanten met een voorliefde voor rauwe, eerlijke en spontane folkmuziek. In 2009 Scrum de Geels Music (vakjury) Award voor
beste live band in 2008. Scrum wordt
omgeschreven als vernieuwend en anders.
Scrum heeft als motto: Pro Libertate oftewel Voor de Vrijheid. De boodschap van Scrum is: vrijheid van feest, vrijheid van muziek, vrijheid van verbroedering, vrijheid van drank en vrijheid van sportiviteit.
