@tetracanthus The fish will just hide if there's too much light. They are nocturnal after all. I'm lucky to film them at all. Would take a long time to get them to adjust to a higher light output and I'd rather not put them through the stress of it all. They are my pets after all and I have to think of their well being first.

Are fish like plants - in that some species date back way further than others? If so, are catfish one of the older known species?

@pearldowns catfish are siluriforms. They are relatively newcomers when it comes to fish. There are over 3000 known species of catfish, with an estimated 4000 species likely to exist on the planet. They are arguably the most diverse group of boney fishes on the planet. South America is home to more than 50% of all species of catfish. Catfish range from just a cm long as an adult to over 4 meters long depending on the species. Catfish for this and many other reasons are my favorite animals
