Military campaign okayed

Turkey's Parliament authorized the Government to start military operations in the North Iraq. Parliament's votes had the ratio of 507 pro and 19 cons. According to the Turkish authorities every country has the right for self-defense and the military operations in the North Iraq do not contradict to the International Laws and Turkish Constitution. In his comment on the Parliament's decision Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey has no intentions on the Iraqi territory. He also added that the military campaign will not harm the Iraqi people and authorities. Prime Minister also mentioned that the adoption of the Government's project on the military operation in the North Iraq does not mean that the operations will start in near future. 'It depends on the situation' said Recep Erdogan. In fact, Iraqi Vice President was in Ankara in order to discuss this issue. Official Baghdad announced that any military operation in their territory will be evaluated as 'an illegal invasion into an sovereign country'. Washington D.C.responded immediately and called Turkey to abstain from military operations in North Iraq. According to G. Bush, the sending of Turkish troops to Iraq is driven by Turkey's interests. He also added that the board of administration actively negotiates with Turkish and Iraqi authorities.
