Abel didn't use telekenisis, another character, Dietrich von Lohengrin (the puppet master) killed him so he couldn't give out The Rosenkreuz Orden's secrets to the Vatican. Abel says somewhere around episode 8 that he made a promise never to kill anyone or let anyone die.

Note: The one getting his butt kicked at the beginning isn't Abel. It's his other personality called Nightroad. Abel, however, is totally badass because he is a Crusnik.
