  • My daughter of 15 was in a fatal crash and she was thrown so far that it wasn't until the second look that she was even noticed. The only reason that the crews searched was because of the survivors of the crash told them where to locate her. Poor Marissa. I miss her so much. It was such a senseless act. She knew better than to get in the car with a drunk driver. It happened on Mother's Day, 2003. Well, the driver was also killed. There were 3 survivors. I just wish she would have called me.

  • You have my condolences.

No child should lose a parent early in life and no parent should lose a child, ever!!!

  • My unprofessional opinion... I've heard that in high impact collisions, people can be completely forced/crushed into the floorboard area of a vehicle... Maybe she wasn't IN the seat at all and would easily be covered by an airbag... Still blows my mind that such little detail was paid to the vehicle.

  • According to the news report, the woman was very small and even if belted in could have been on the floor just like you say.

We have actually found small children, who were belted into the back seat, forced under the front seat from a head on impact.

  • Surely, whether she was killed on impact, or at some later time should have no bearing on any legal action. The actions of the police/fire department etc are the same, whether she was alive or dead. I know this isn't how the law works however, I'm just giving my views.

  • I just did another Google search on this and read a LA Times report dated the same day as the newscast. It seems that the rescue personnel asked the driver, the victims son, if there was anyone else in the car and he told them no. But speaking from experience, you do not take the word of someone who is shaken up from an accident. You look for and into all possibilties. It's standard proceedure.

  • @acuiriz I'm sorry for your loss she was way too young

  • gosh, this was just rediculous..wow!..it seems like they would have seen traces of the women or something on the seat, it seems a thero investigation wasn't done like protocol says to do...wow! somebody wasn't payin attention to what was spose to be done....

  • Emergency services should check all possible spaces for survivors, and therefore find any deceased unfortunates.

  • Oops!

  • Was Mrs. Williams not wearing her seat-belts and relying only on the airbag for protection?

In EMS, I can see this happening.

In clutter and debri inside a wrecked vehicle, clothing, sheets, blankets, coats papers get thrown around and pile anywhere.

That, plus deployed airbag can cover her body.

    Sorry she died.

  • @acuiriz Not wearing her seat-belt?

    Sorry that she died.

  • If you noticed, they didn't mention the fire department...the firefighters wouldn't have noticed that I bet you...
