It was a little dark at first..:).

I remembered entering Moffat Tunnel's west portal on Amtrak, I rode in the last car looking out the rear. You could hear some whistling around the car due to air pressure inside the tunnel which would last until you got about halfway through.

I think it has to do with the fumes in the 6.2 mile tunnel, they have to blow fumes out of the tunnel after every train using a large fan at one end. Due to this the Moffat can only support 25-26 trains a day.

Now that's interesting that they ask you not to walk between cars. Are they afraid someone could fall out?

Cool perspective on the tunnel. I've always thought if I were to tide through it, I'd do the same but would have ran into the same delema you have with it being so dark that all you see is a black screen. Too bad the rear car doesn't have some type of flood light that would illuminate the interor walls of the bore. I sure yould enjoy seeing a view from the cab of the locomotive.

I did happen to nitice the train passing some dull red marker type lights. When you were riding.
