am i the only one who thinks this could have been released by joy division and no one would be able to tell it's new order. it sounds so much like it.

It always used to annoy me when new order were interviewed, they'd often say how weak they thought movement was as an album. I pretty much like everything they've ever done, but movement is my favourite of all, followed by power corruption & lies.

Movement wasn't as good as Joy division's best but I'd say it was even darker and more mysterious. The production was murkier, the vocals buried. I think this reflects his even worsening mental and physical state of Hannett so it's no surprise the band decided to move on without him. With better production and arranging, Movement had the potential to be as good as Closer IMO. But a lot of songs are stagnant, sort of floating on- like this one. They needed more focus. That said, I still like it.
