@ dominatelife Mastodon has openly admitted Neurosis' influence on their music. They are friends with Scott Kelly, and he has been featured on Leviathan, Blood Mountain, and Crack the Skye.

Music being more 'complex' doesn't necessarily equate to it being 'better'. That's exactly the kinda way of thikning that gives metal a bad name.

well yeah, but you can't help but hear neurosis' influence on mastodon's music
especially on their earlier shit.
mastodon is unique enough to not be a neurosis rip off
but they were influenced by them
