Free speech doesn't mean you can say anything you want without ANY consequences, it just means that your government won't persecute you for saying it. If I go into work and call my boss a fucknut, i'll lose my job... but will not go to jail. Free Speech.

I'm not "crucifying" anyone. I'm just saying free speech isn't a free pass to say whatever you want without ANY consequences.

For instance, I can say "Glenn Beck makes me want to vomit and gauge my eyes out at the same time" (which is true), but that means I have to accept the fact that people will disagree with me and maybe do something about it. Thankfully, my government won't put me in jail for it.

No way, this is such a lazy argument. You can have free speech and still oppose racism. That joke was in poor taste and they deserved to lose their jobs, Beck is probably just playing devil's advocate but he's tacitly justifying a racist slur which is totally indefensible.

"White Southerners don't have a special interest group." Wrong. Its called the Republican Party. I'm not saying Rep. are racist; but do you really think that the majority White male politicians are abandoning their OWN interests when running every southern government and after being elected to Congress? Give me a break. As a white southern male I can honestly say that I've never felt persecuted or discriminated against. Get over it.

I used to do small-time production at a "local" (ARN satellite broadcast of J. Fox on weekdays, weekends and morning show were local) radio station, and I worked in the same studio with Greg Delmonaco, who is the one responsible for bringing Don Imus in to the business. We had Imus doing production and writing ad-copy before he was anyone. He was a real asshole, I almost smashed his face in one day when he called me "nigger lover". He felt Howard Stearn should be banned. A bigot and a hypocrite.
