Its outstanding to think that the Junta has now said the emergency is over!! The actions of the Junta show us they did not care for the people as this weakens them thus the junta becomes more powerful, We have one option land troops with food and shelter not guns and bombs then see how the junta acts in the face of a peaceful move by the world. ( Oh we would have to be ready if they start shooting ) If China can help its people then why not the Junta?

Let the people parish because their government is corrupt? What kind of logic is that? Maybe they don't have the facilities to rise up against the corrupt Gov't. Don't you think they would have thought of that years ago? And going inside and watching TV is not going to help you when the roof is ripped off your house. And as par usual, Mrs. Bush is just talking for herself and the US, no one else matters, there's that shittly US celf centered attitude that keeps poping up.

I am fucking sick of hearing about Burma on the fucking news. The government idiotically will not accept help from others whilst the people of the country perish. Let them all die I say: if the people are prepared to live under such a ludicrous military regime then they must pay the price. Why have some countries managed to get their acts together and some, tragically, haven't? Places like Burma lag way behind in the race for the survival of the fittest, and this is the consequence.

I don`t fault their distrust in international aid. However, an event this extreme... You have to let everyone in who is willing to help. All matters can be dealt with later. This is an example where political posturing is inapropriate. Burma doesn`t matter much to th US strategically but people matter to our citizens.
