Gunslinger Girl (ガンスリンガー·ガール, Gansuringā Gāru?) is an ongoing manga by Yu Aida. It was adapted into a thirteen-episode anime television series (animated by Madhouse) which aired in Japan from October 8, 2003 to February 19, 2004. A sequel to the series, titled Gunslinger Girl -Il Teatrino-, animated by Artland, started to air in Japan on January 7, 2008.

I'm going to finish the 2nd season tonight... got like 5 or so episodes to go. I agree that the 1st season is better but it's still enjoyable. Although I feel the opening and ending themes for the 1st season suit the show so much better, they were just meant for it. This song is so beautiful and emotional.

The first season has better art. I hate when they decide to go with bigger eyes. Jesus Their fucking eyes are big enough already now they look like aliens.

I love the old one like this and i love classic soundtracks plus it was better than that 2nd season didn't make sense to me

@lanzerotify Yes, while it isn't nearly as good as the first season, many things must be taken into consideration. The first seaon had an amazingly large budget and was done by Madhouse, it introduces the concepts of the series to the audience. It has its own individual stories in a way that allow us to look at each cyborg and get to know them a little bit. The second season, with the budget drop, and different animation house it still stands out. Building on what has been established.

@Gzus70 well i've seen the sequel granted it wasn't good as the 1st one IMO it was still worth seeing I kinda like the artwork on the 2nd season Henrietta was cutter on that one

well the second season was based on the manga much like season 1 was as well as the ova. there is a third season or ova out there as well the manga is also on going still!

the sequal totally ruined the bittersweet ending of the first gunslinger girl... if you havent seen it id suggest not watching it tbh, just pretend it doesn't exist
