Update: Governor Richardson has signed the bill that bans the gassing of animals in the State of New Mexico, approximately 1 year after this video was published on YouTube.

It has been proven, that it does not cost tax payors more to humanely euthanize than using the gas chambers.

It is proven that dogs that attend puppy training classes do not end up at shelters.

As we continue to create a movement in this country to control our animal over population situation, please help us stop the gassing. As long as the gassing continues, that's where our time and attention must be - where we must focus.

I'm confident that one very soon, this will all be a thing of the past, and we will be free to place our attention on childhood diseases, alzheimer's, parkinson's, and many other causes that truly need dedicated persons like ourselves!

This video was done May, 2008. Here we are June, 2009. It still amazes me, that Carol wrote this poem, I did this video with her photos. Congrats my friend, Carol. YOU WON! WHO-WAH! how can they do this i'm sitting here in tears watching this how can they do this i thought it was only for really really bad criminals and such but why would they do this to an inicint dog i have a dog i think the world about my dog and strays and other dogs and i think this is a crime that they're doing this i want to stop this and i want the world to stop this. The Gassing will be banned in the State of New Mexico on June 19th, 2009. Because of the hard work of many, including Carol, Governor Bill Richardson signed the bill. Now, we must focus on other states that still gas. Carol's youtube channel is freespeechrules100.

I am an animal activist in Montreal, Qc. Canada. We are fighting against the gas chambers here in Quebec. I viewed this video and as always, moved me to tears. Carol has displayed the reality of dogs held on death row. We must end the torture and the gas chambers everywhere. We must close ALL puppy mills. We must fight for severe penalties for those so-called humans who abuse & abandon their pets. We must save our precious animals. PLEASE HELP!!

The man wrote that every thursday night, before Friday where they do the gassing, he goes into the dog chambers with $50 of Mcdonalds food and plays with them and feeds them. He then takes about 10 kittens and pregnant cats and smuggles them out to be set free. He takes 4 anxiety pills (something which I thought to be impossible) and wears earplugs and cries every day, can barely sleep, and hallucinates. He knows that he's going to hell, he said.

Tears rolling for this one. How anyone can kill a dog is beyond me. They're so loving & just want to play & be loved. It amazed me that people can still breed, NOT neuter & buy from petstores instead of shelters. :( Ignorance causes this. In New England there are all no - kill shelters. IF that governor signed, does that mean there are no kill shelters now?

And if we finally took animal & child abuse SERIOUSLY ,instead of paying it mere lip service, the arguments about capital punishment would be moot because most 'qualifying' crimes would be vastly reduced. Don't take my word for it. Just look at all the research. But, cruelty must be nipped in the bud; it must be railed & legislated against; met w/ zero tolerance; must be stopped. And COMPASSION must be taught.

@ThePrairiewolf Gassing is actually NOT humane. There's a direct, proven correlation btwn how we treat the weakest amongst us-children & animals-&the worst violence in our society. Compassion/empathy are NOT mutually exclusive. Most who care about animal rights also care about human ones. This is not putting their lives "over (that of) a human". It's about being evolved enough to use the intelligence God gave us to treat them accordingly. We KNOW they feel pain, dream, & bleed, as do we.
