Some footage of ANZAC Day, 25th April 2007 through the city of Brisbane, Queensland Australia.
This is seen from the perspective of the Military Jeep Club of Queensland, whose members are honoured to be able to help carry the servicemen and women from past conflicts.
The customary marching route around the city starts at 10 o'clock at the Myer Centre in Elizabeth Street, where the diggers are loaded. Many are getting on in years and appreciate the boarding ramp. Then along George Street, down Adelaide Street and into Creek Street. After unloading the diggers we loop back to Elizabeth Street to pick up more veterans.
The nightly news reported a crowd of over sixty thousand lining the streets.

Using a small digital still camera, I tried to take the marching footage discreetly - it is the veterans' day - so I did most of it on the last of four laps, when the crowds had dissipated and I did not have a digger aboard. By that time they've all gone to the pub to have a few beers and remember their mates who never made it back home.
