So I think Joe Satriani has gone a bit insane -- his new album, Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock cannot be the work of a man in his right mind. Nevertheless, the new VOX Satchurator pedal is all over the new album.

Mike Bradley of VOX spent a year and a half working with Joe Satriani and learning to speak his imaginary language so that they could effectively communicate ideas to develop an overdrive pedal that would provide all that Professor Satchifunkalupagus (or whatever he's calling himself nowadays) with all he'd ever want out of an OD pedal.

As it turns out, once you've fully invested yourself in Satriani's backwards-land, he has some pretty rocking ideas. See more on Gearwire.com.

  • Sorry GearWire, But the Cameraman is too bad next time take anyone with a little idea.

  • please explain. Our two shooters have been doing this for a long time, and would appreciate specifics.

  • i think it was cool until he started filming the guy with the guitar. I think guitarists (as myself) want to see both hands of a player. This was too zoomed in so sometimes you would be like: did he just roll down the volume? or was that him stomping the pedal? i think that if he had just filmed the guy with a full body shot, filming how he uses both his hands, and also maybe get the pedal in the picture, that would have been great. Just my 2 cents. None the less, it's a cool vid!

  • hey, that's good to know. I was trained in cinematography, so I tend to want to go for a clean closeup. I'm not a guitarist, so I am not sure what you guys are looking for in shooting a guitarist. Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely be keeping this in mind at Fall AES.

  • How many people "helped' Joe? This is youtube guy number 4 I've seen so far claiming that. I thinks they speakith too much shit. "More" button is crap. Just tell Joe to use a volume pedal FFS.

  • Is that Sammy Hagar???? jus kidding

  • Can anyone tell me what adaptor (AC or DC) am i supposed to use for the vox satchurator...On the manual it says it requires an AC adaptor, whereas on the unit near the adaptor socket it says it needs a 9v DC adaptor....Pls help....

  • It's a really great pedal and not that expensive...I got one new for $100.

  • I have it : it is the very best of vintage distorsions !

  • The guitarist was really good.

  • @gearwire umm I think he means the camera guy was going crazy filming everything, i.e. watching the hand go to the volume knob, then back to the neck of the guitar, then randomly down to the guy's feet. (all of which I didnt notice until this guy mentioned something about the camera guy)

  • Hey, would this work great with a Fender Blues Jr?

I'm thinking of selling my vyper to get the Blues Jr and then get the Sacthurator or maybe the new Ice9

    Thanks
