Why are animated shorts such a fad on the internet these days? I'd love it if I could stumble through Youtube without coming across a "funny" or "cutesy" animated short every 10 seconds.
you obviously have no idea what amount of work goes into making a simple short film. unless you have an army of animators and a never-ending wallet at your beck and call short films are your only option.
Sure I know a lot of work goes into these, and of course I'll admit I couldn't do them on my own. But I dont like them. I'm sure Nickelback puts a lot of work into their "music" but that doesn't mean any of it is good. There nd the internet all together. They really are all very generic and bland. Any douchenozzle with basic animation experience can make a short that's slightly funny or cute or has some gay moral behind it, and suddenly its so brilliant.
from your statement you obviously know nothing of the medium. this isn't some simple flash animation, it's 3D which means this takes a hell of a long time to make. plus these are students who only have 6 months to a year to get their film done. and it takes pixar and the likes 3-4 years, a bottomless pit of a wallet, and their own personal army of computer science majors to make their feature films. so do the math asswipe.
You dont get the point of what Im saying at all. Have you ever tried thoroughly reading a comment instead of assuming what it's about and slamming your face on your keyboard. I very clearly stated that I KNOW quite a bit of work goes into these, thats what MOST of my last comment was about but you clearly cannot read. My point was that there are so many of these bland, generic shorts on the internet that its starting to get annoying. And seriously? Calling me an asswipe over something like this?
Super film ! Super film !

Technically it's great though.
