Beth's POV;
Pulling away from our group hug, I realised that everyone urged to say something. We all needed to say something reassuring in case we didn't get any further. In case life as we know it was officially swirling down the drain.
"I have something to say." Chloe smiled, braving going first. We all nodded, my eyes already welling up. I didn't want to hear anything apart from the daunting silence; but I understood that the person I loved more than anything in the universe needed to let out her deepest emotions. And I was willing to listen for that reason alone, as I knew that when it was my turn to speak she would listen intently.
"Go ahead." I whispered my voice cracking as I hugged my self in fear. It felt like we were all awaiting each others death speeches. But I wanted to believe we were going to get out of here alive; even if in my heart I knew it wasn't going to be that simple.
"I love you all." She sighed, wondering whether to continue or not as she realised tears were already leaking down my face. "And you have to promise me that you'll all look after each other." As if by pattern we all nodded our head like dogs as they await something exciting. Chloe shifted standing in front of Harry; his curls messed, and falling helplessly; his eyes bloodshot and weak; his lips turned down showing no beautiful dimples in his pale white skin.
"Don't speak." Harry pleaded, his eyes glassing over as tears spilled.
"We've grown close over the past few days, and I'd never know that a boy that is so loved by many people could be so humble." Harry smiled at that, making Chloe sigh with relief as she realised that perhaps she was lifting spirits slightly. Harry wrapped Chloe in his embrace for a moment. Tears continued to trickle down my face as I continually thought about how close we all were, and if this was goodbye how hard it was going to be to admit it.
"Zayn," she laughed lightly as she moved slightly left. "I know you least out of everyone, but you've been a good friend to Harry. And I applaud you for putting up with him." She winked then, causing both Zayn and the boys to chuckle lightly. They both hugged.
"Niall, Louis. You two are two of my sister's best friends, and you're always there for her. You're so kind, and considerate; and we've been pretty close for a while now. Don't change who you are ever. You're both perfect." That made me cry, thinking about having to leave Louis and Niall made everything a hell of a lot harder for me to handle.
"And Beth." She walked straight past Liam, and I knew that it was going to be most difficult for us to say good bye; but it would be harder for them to say good bye. They were in love. They couldn't even deny it any more. I cried then, making the most embarrassing noise on the planet as I sobbed into her shoulder.
"Don't." I whispered softly into her ear. "Don't talk; we're all going to be fine. One day we'll look back, and we'll laugh at this."
"We won't Beth. I wish we would. But we won't. I love you Beth; you're not only my sister, but you are my best friend. I'll never forget you. Promise." I didn't want to listen to that more than anything. She wouldn't need to forget me; we were going to be okay. I didn't stop crying as she pulled away, moving back to Liam. I dropped to the floor, not strong enough to stand any more. We didn't deserve any of this. We didn't ask for any of this. I felt something wrap around my shoulders; a certain amount of warmth rushed through my body; the touch sending unbelievable amounts of electricity through my veins. I never wanted whoever it was to let go. I wanted to stay cradled in their arms forever.
"Liam." I heard Chloe whisperer as I lifted up my head to see her place her hands on his chest. "I love you." Nothing more needed to be said; those words said everything. I smiled at how she admitted it, but wished that they would have more time to experience the pleasure of being together. They both deserved that more than anything.
"I love you too." He whispered back, before kissing her softly. Thinking about it, it was like a tragic love story where love was admitted, but then everybody dies. But I still knew somewhere inside me that we were all going to be perfectly fine. We still had time. Even if we didn't have lots of it; we had enough to do something. We had enough time to try.
