  • good video thank you. I'm having a major problem trying to keep the primer holding rod from falling off every time its cycled.

    Any advice?

It seems to be sticking to the shell holder, I've cleaned and lubed it to no avail. I have even grinded down the outside of the pocket. I'm starting to give up hope.

  • @jbenetat

Make sure it is engaged inside the ram. Sounds like you don't have it placed properly. It also could be you have the wrong shell holder in the press. If that doesn't work get on the phone to Lee and ask for Pat. He is the expert on all this stuff.

  • What's your opinion on cleaning the primer pocket, is it necessary or should I not worry about it?

  • Don't worry about it. I assume you are talking about the cup that the primer drops in from the Safety Prime trigger? If you are talking about primer pockets on brass I would forget that for sure. My rifle shooting buddies will do that for high power, high pressure loads but for normal pistol and rifle stuff it is not needed.

  • where do the spent primers go?

  • There is a plastic tube that comes with the press which is attached to the bottom of the ram with a nipple. The primers go right out through the tube and into a waste can, usually I use an old coffee can, on the floor. It is the best spent primer removal system going!

  • thank you for pointing out the position of the arm in relation to the trigger. I found the solution to my problem.

  • Thanks a lot. I was referring to the primer pocket on the brass, I'll take your advice and not worry about it. I figured if there wasn't a stage built into the press for primer pocket cleaning then Lee didn't think it was necessary but I just thought I'd check. Thanks for the video, very informational.

  • I am not co ordinated enough to do this, I think I'll get me a single stage press lol

  • Great instructional video. Thanks so much
