Here's a tune I made up called "Blackmail Alley" (about being blackmailed in a dark alley although you'll have to imagine it 'cos I can't write lyrics).
Guitar: Gretsch 6120 DSV (Seymour Duncan Dynasonics)
Amp: Headstrong Lil King Reverb (1964 Fender Princeton Reverb replica)

@danpolicarpo i know - geographical distance is such a bummer!
On the subject of recording, I've been using an Edirol R09 Wav recorder for the sound which i then sync with the video directly (no eq). The R09 a little portable device about the size of an ipod which I place against the speaker cloth. Works great for spikey single coils but too muddy for the 6120. I think an SM57 is a better option so im going to start experimenting with that setup soon.

Hey Johnny, love your playing man..we've talked about how we both like the older styles, but find it hard to meet players who are not just wanting to play in a nostalgia band. I really like your originals. I go the same way, on a more country angle, like the flip side of the same country/blues coin. If only you lived closer to Tulsa, we would jam brother. One question, how do you record your stuff? It alsways sounds clear, without the digital quality so many have. Thanks for all the posts.
