Well the World Health Organization finally stepped up on 15 Sept of this year. "WHO gives indoor use of DDT a clean bill of health for controlling malaria" After decades of hysteria.

DDT is not widely used due to international restrictions. There are limited indoor test areas where DDT is used around the perimeter of the indoor area which has been very effective. But it is still extremely limited in scope and not widely available.
