The only way Question One has anything to do with kids and schools is this:

If it passes, it means some kids will be left to ponder why so many Mainers would choose to ban their parents from getting married?

If it passes, it means the state of Maine will be required to tell these kids' parents that they don't qualify for the same rights as everyone else.

If it passes, it means these kids get to go to school every day with classmates who know their families have been singled out for different treatment under the law.

Consider the real consequences and real harms if Question One passes, and ignore the shameful tactics of the Yes on 1 campaign. The Yes on One activists are so adamantly opposed to the rights of gay individuals, couples, parents, and families that they will say absolutely anything in order to scare voters into banning marriage.

What gives the homos the right to force their fanatics on everyone so they can feel less ostracized?

  • Why do so-called "religious" fanatics think they have the right to ram their lifestyle down everyone else's throats? Decent, moral, educated people find the hatred and ignorance inherent in the taliban-like "Christians" greatly deviant, yet they continue to spew their nonsense anywhere and everywhere, regardless of being clearly UNWANTED. Don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are Christian, but they know it's better to keep their lifestyle behind closed doors, and not flaunt it in public.

  • I have an objection to evolution, condoms, women and racial minorities being "equal" and eating pork, what about my right to teach my children my ignorance and hate in public schools! lol

  • that's right, as parents we have the right to say what we want taught to our children, i know damn well i do not want my kids being told that being gay is okay and/or normal. Sorry but i do not want my child learning that as if it were a normal subject...no way! i'm his mother and if they were teaching my children about gay marriage or gay anything, i will be angry! that is MY child! they need to respect our rules and wishes as parents of these children. Teach ur kids bout that at home.
