This is the laser I picked up at Mobile Beat Chicagoland 2008

I have applied for my Varience, so I can use this laser until I recieve my certificate (should take about a month or so)

I love how you can have as many guns as you like, but you can't have a laser above 4.9mW, we use 1 and 2 watt ones in large clubs and it would be a niiiightmare if we had to licence them all!

Brian is right. I have a 500mw Green laser and I just purchased a 2000mw RGB Projector and I will be filling out those papers very soon. All it takes is for one person to complain that they got hit in the eye and they can sue you. If you dont have a variance then you are screwed. It is now required that you have a safety check list and that you record and fill it out everytime you operate the laser. This will save your ass in the worst case senario. Protect your ass and get a variance!

As far as getting this "variance" this is only concerned with these laser projectors? or pointers as well? Because everywhere I have read is that they have allowed for everyone to have access up to 1W lasers nowadays without having to get special certifications.

Fair enough having rules for these things , in the UK we have been using high powered lasers at festivals and raves since the 80s and I have seen them used in some quite worrying ways even in the past few years , not that I complained , they looked amazing .

(I work for this company) This one has steppers on the mirrors, the only x-laser product with galvos is the skywriter.

hmmm that is a toy laser , the smollest laser that we use here in romania is 500mw and this one is regarded as a smole one, somethin that would go as ok is 2w and the big ones are obove 5w. im sory for u guys there in america . greetings from romania
