Great looking car but I think I'd change the rear tail lamps to the shelby / cougar style !

In January 1971 I purchased a new 1970 Mercury Cyclone 429cj identical to this car for $3,000.00. It was a force to be reckoned with! I owned it about 2 1/2 years and traded it for a Corvette. The Corvette was a sweet ride but the car I most often think about is the "Mighty Cyclone"! If a car like this ever enters your life, NEVER SELL IT!

@erjcO1O There are 3-4 of these in the county that I live in. My brother had one also. One of my dream cars.
I had the chance 2 buy one 5-6 years ago for $1500. but had no money in hand & it was sold. A awsome ride!!

Sounds like and looks like the one I owned right out of high school. What a sweet car. I could get the windshield wipers to walk up the window at about 160mph. I raced an ET bracket with mine up in Lake Geneva. Raced mainly Chevelle 396s and ate 'em up. I had to break at the end of the quarter mile so as not to break my ET bracket. My winnings? A whopping $50. Enough for gas back to Illinois.

They only made about 1650 of these in 1970. I wonder how many are still around?

Come on, it was 1978. $900 was a lot of money for a beater back then. Not a beater now though...
