  • I bought the magnets direct from the manufacturer in China, on magnets i payd arround 450USD, other materials more about 150USD, for the ribbon, i'm using a aluminium foil, those used in kitchen, but still searching for a thinner foil.

No i'm finishing the tweeter enclousure/shielding!

  • Who is the music by? Particularly, who is the guitarist??

  • @zoso0987 Dream Theater - Live Scenes from New York (Disc 1) - 07 - John & Theresa Solo Spot

  • PLEASE explain in detail how you made them! I would very much like to experiment with them. Thank you! Great job btw!

  • @veltruski Its simple, 2 magnets and a a thin aluminium foil. I describe all my work on this ribbon tweeter in a forum thread, search for "line array com ribbon tweeter" on google, its the first result on "HTforum"

    Fell free to ask :)

  • @msonegatti You may want to try the stuff they use for silver leaf, it is ultra thin but really fragile, not sure if it's available in the type of lengths I see in your video, it is aluminium though, you can get it at craft shops and on the net. It would also work for ribbon microphones. Shure microphones use a new special ribbon in their ribbon mics, it's coated in a nano material which makes it super strong even though it's very thin, it's a pitty that stuff is not available.

  • That's pretty awesome! Where did you manage to source such huge magnets, that much ribbon material, and how much did it cost?! Must have cost a fortune!

  • @msonegatti I should have known it was petrucci! thanks!

  • @msonegatti Thank you! Cheers!
