@Romagical First off, they intended it to be their debut at first. Secondly, Corey is a worse vocalists because his screams and growls suck, Anders is at least a bit unique.

You want heavy songs, listen to "Phobophile" by Cryptopsy, or "Love?" by Strapping Young Lad, or even "Oh my Fucking God" by Strapping Young Lad.

Slipknot is definitely pop metal, especially compared to those bands.

First of all, this is an EP/Demo, Paul and Clown have said in interviews that when they made this album they were trying out different sounds to see where they wanted it to go from there, and they wanted to go fore a more straightforward metal approach. Plus, Anders wasn't bad but anyone with musical knowledge can see that Corey is by FAR a superior vocalist, he can scream, growl, and sing,

and pop metal?!, they have made some of the heaviest songs, listen to iowa dude.

@Romagical Yes it is. They intended this to be their debut album and then changed styles. Saying that this isn't real Slipknot is like saying that Metallica's first four albums aren't real Metallica.

I can't stand Slipknot, and this is by far the best thing they've put out. It's got more complexity and effort. The rest is just lazily written pop metal. This is far better.
