Perfect Enemy // Odette/Facilier

BLAST FROM THE PAST PEOPLE! BLAST. FROM THE PAST.
The third video I ever did and uploaded onto this channel, my most viewed and liked, is finally finished! And it sure shows its age doesn't it?

I originally was gonna leave the craptastic video as it was, but then someone brought something to my attention a while ago that sparked my interest for this video again. It's a funny story actually. Someone created a video with almost the exact same story line from my video, and even some of the exact same scenes.
At first I was like 'wut' but then I laughed. I laughed because this person made me feel the exact opposite of how I was supposed to feel. They actually made me want to FINISH this old video.

And that's the story of how Dimitri stole Christmas- I mean, of how this video got completed and how I fixed most of the mistakes the original video had. The ending is sorta tacked on, because I just wanted to get straight to the ending I had planned right from the get-go since I started the video, so I didn't use any padding. And Naveen is still a poor little plot device that was only seen twice. Poor thing.

Actually, now that I look at this, this would of made a great background for a sixth sense character... Oh, wait, sorry, sixth sense is just on the brain. *hint hint* THERE'S GONNA BE A SIXTH SENSE VIDEO COMING UP! *hint hint*

STORY BECAUSE APPRANTLY IT IS NEEDED:

Odette comes from a very wealthy family. As such, she is arranged to meet with other wealthy bachelors by her family, much to her discontent. She meets with a king of a small kingdom, and the man falls for her beauty instantly, so he arranges for them to be married. She is upset by this as this means she can not be with the man she really loves, Naveen.

All the while, Odette has caught the attention of A mystical voodoo man with great power. He comes to her later that night to try and make a deal with her. If she marries him instead, she will gain much power. She instantly refuses. Angered by this, Facilier uses his power to cast a curse on her to turn her into a swan for the night. He tells her to think about the proposition again as he leaves an upset Odette.

The next day, he comes back and Odette transforms back into a human. Odette still refuses his proposal. It is then that he reveals that he has captured Naveen and will do something terrible to him if she does not accept. Odette gets even more upset by this, but accepts Faciliers deal. They shake hands and by doing this, Odette gains some of Facilier's powers over the shadows and spirits. (represented by the red eyes)

This power seems to change Odette as she begins to enjoy the rush of power and her and Facilier quickly begin to make a plan take over the kingdom, starting with the Prince who she had formerly been forced to get engaged with. The next day, she comes to a party that is being held in the castle.

This is getting long so I'll try to keep the rest short. Basically, Odette and Facilier's plan succeed and they take over the castle, the prince now dead. Odette, having gained Facilier's trust, asks for something and Facilier, now being a gullible fool, gives her the medallion that had originally been used to curse her. Somehow knowing it's the source of his power or some shiz (I'm making it up as I go along now, bear with me), she breaks it. This causes the shadows and spirits to turn against him since it had been what was controlling them. Odette is pleased by this as she finally got her revenge, but she soon realizes that she still has control over the spirits.

Very cool and impressive. The story line is very original, and the transitions match the beats well. Side note: I like this song, but half the time when they say "perfect enemy" I hear "perfect anime" lolwut. Really an impressive job. *subscribes and chastises herself for not having subscribed before*

Whoa that was really cool editing right there. When Odette turns over to join Facilier in the dark side, turning evil once she shakes his hand, what a twist. No, wait, the real big twist is when she defeats him and takes over his role, commanding the shadows and spirits in his place.

This was awesome! I found both versions just today, and I was really surprised by the second one. When I watched the first version, I thought that Facilier told Odette that the prince had imprisoned/killed Naveel, and that Facilier used that to bring her on his side. I actually thought that the first video's finale had been an act of revenge rather than a simple coup.

Still, this ending was also great. I tip my hat before your skill and talent.
