is this still true in fluxx 4.0?
because it says "during your turn, this rule does not apply to you; when your turn is over discard down to X card(s)"

also when you play take another turn do you have to get down to the hand limit between turns?

No, this trick became impossible after Fluxx 4.0, when the Hand Limit cards were written to remove this loophole.

Yes, you must discard to the Hand Limit between the turns you take with Take Another Turn.

thank you andy!

sorry to bug you again but i didnt see anything about this on the rabbit wiki (that i finally found).

if there is a first play random out with get on with it (and a play 2 or up). do you get to choose whether or not to do you first play? like say you have a card you dont want played and are afraid it will be picked, can you choose to get on with it before the first play random?

oh and btw i love your games so much, there have been for me in even in hard times. :]

Maybe legal, but a dick move. Also, just trash the play all rule, ffs.

I have a similar question that came up once in Zombie Fluxx and is along the same lines of this one. My opponent has Zombie Quartet, I have the Shotgun and a single, do, and trio zombie, and the goal is "4,3,2,1." I have not drawn yet. May I shoot the zombie Quartet with the shotgun before I draw, so that I can take it myself?

When we play Fluxx we wont throw any cards away with hand limit rule if there is a "Play All" on the board. The person plays all the cards in their hand - then draw 2 cards from the deck - then its the next persons turn. So that at the end of the turn the person has 2 cards in their hand.
But Im sure everyone has their own variations :)

So basically in our variation, the person would have won with the brain card - unless the one whos playing had an action card that changed the rules so he didnt have to play the goal.

[continued] This would allow him to say since I *may* ignore this rule, I'm going to observe it and *immediately*, as the card says, discard all but two of my hand. This is the only situation where I would see this as an acceptable way out of the Play All/Hand Limit 2 dilemma. See the difference?

I just thought of this: on the other hand, if for example the only new rules on the table were Draw 3 and Play All, and Andy *drew* the Hand Limit 2 along with the Brain no tv, he could start his Play phase by putting down the Hand Limit 2 card. [continues]

By taking the cards into his hand and saying he has a choice of keeping "the two that I like", Andy is trying to ignore and observe the rule at the same time.
p.s. I love Zombie Fluxx!
