I have an easier fix... half square triangles
so it would be Row 1: green sq, yellow/green sq, green/orange sq, green sq
Row 2: green/orange sq, orange/yellow sq, orange/yellow sq, yellow/green sq
Row 3: green/yellow sq, yellow/orange sq, yellow/orange sq, orange/green
Row 4: green sq, orange/green sq, green/yellow sq, green sq
Then sew rows together and then the columns, and viola! :D

I've searched all over the web for a pattern to make the pieces. What are the sizes of the diamonds, triangles and blocks before sewing?
