Watch the first episode of "Living Green" as I unraveled the mystification of drinking water stored in Plastic Bottles.

Music By: Lyrics Born Clap your hands say yeah.

Correction:
- I made a couple mistakes with some of the organic chemistry. Biphenol A is actually "Bisphenol A" and PET is "Poly ethylene". So sorry! I'm still learning too!

  • lol well, when i refill a waterbottle at my school, i find little flakes and or chunks of matter floating around in it. so that turns me off , and thats why i bring bottled water. haha, but i'll be sure to buy a stainless steel one soon :)

    great info :) thanks!

  • Its good that you are aware of the "flakes". You can always fill up your kanteen from home. On the long run, you'll save yourself money :)

  • i drink tap water! i hate plastic bottled water its so bad for you! and i used to have a nalgene bottle collection.. until they said it was TOXIC! AHH!! i too am passionate about banning plastic bottles.. and i have a pink lean kanteen i loovee!!!

  • what about sodium flouride thou?

  • what about sodium flouride thou?

  • Yeah your totally right about BPA, and you gave me some new terms to research. My only problem is that you havent informed people about the industrial waste product known as sodium flouride. Flouride has alot of dangerous side effects. Please make another video after you research Flouride. Your awesome! If you read your neighborhoods annual water report you will find flouride, radium, selenium, lead, mercury and a shleww of others. You are totally right about there being no difference thou.

  • dude thanks seriously, i drink so much water and i always knew tap was better :D

  • How can distilled water make your body 'more acidic' when the pH is neutral? Your stomach is already very acidic.

  • Yes!

It's they are terrible for your health and environment. 90% of bottled water aren't even recycled. Just to make the plastic bottles are being produced by fossil fuels. Plus the trucks and/or trains used to ship them and the plastic wrap and cardboard. Besides, tap water is only like $1.88 a year.. Or something like that. :\

  • Hey lowfat. You're one of the more sensible "Greenies" I've seen. I don't mind advocating things with scientifically-backed data.

Anyway, I decided for myself a long time ago that buying bottled water was ludicrous. Problem is we have very hard water (you can see tiny particles in it) so I bought a Pur water filter for my kitchen sink. However, we fill a plastic Rubbermaid water dispenser that we keep in the fridge. (No recycling number on it.) So how safe is that? Thanks.

  • I love my Klean Kanteen. I have a Sigg too, but I don't like it as much.
