David Finklang, 27, went to the doctor after experiencing pains in his chest. The surprising diagnosis: Testicular Cancer. He was treated by medical oncologist and testicular cancer specialist Bruce Roth, MD, at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. Finklang shares his story, and Roth discusses testicular cancer and treatment. Both encourage young men to be aware of changes and follow up if problems arise.

  • Hi Willferox: David was diagnosed with primary mediastinal germ cell cancer, and according to his physician (Dr. Roth, who is featured in this video), there really is no useful staging system for that type of cancer. Patients are typically treated with chemotherapy, and all fall into a “poor risk” prognostic classification.
