Live in Budapest, 1986. This is a corrected version, scaled back to normal film speed of 24 fps instead of forced 25 fps on the PAL DVD release which sped everything up and increased the pitch by about 1/2 note.

  • why did they speed up the film on the dvd may i ask?

  • Because film cameras run at 24 frames per second and the PAL TV standard in Europe is 25 frames per second. They could have fudged (interpolated) an additional frame every 24 frames, but the result would look choppy or blurry.

Simply speeding up gives smooth motion, the same thing usually happens to PAL DVD releases of cinema movies, they are sped up compared to American NTSC or normal film version - you can see that if you listen to a soundtrack song in a movie and compare it to a CD or MP3.

  • 2:08 who is the second guitarist?

  • Spike Edney, he mainly played keyboard but joined in on guitar mid-song to thicken the guitar sound on this track.

  • Hammer to Fall Fuckin amazin one of ma faves

  • Mine too. I love the heavier guitar sound on this track.

  • Queen Live was an unbelieveable experence! Their Houston show was my birthday present that year and my Uncle even got us backstage passes somehow. Freddy was a sweet and funny person, so warm. The world lost a great talent when we lost him.

  • Love this, official DVD/CD need's to be released

  • class stuff!!!! freddie at the top of his game (as always!!!)

  • I saw them at the student union at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in 1979. The hall held about 2000 people. It was the best live show I ever saw, and I've seen hundreds.

  • 1:04 - A John Deacon classic move - The Pneumatic Drill

  • I can only listen to this song live. Hammer to Fall on CD just is not the same.

  • Freddiiiiiiie!!! Fantastic............ unbeliveble performance.

  • @TheDddkkk I think you'd have to go a long way to find a better performance than they put in at Rock in Rio...

  • One of my favourite bands and brilliant power in that song. I can almost feel those guitars playing close by!

  • Really nice version, Brian May is in top form!

  • шикарно))

  • The best performance show by Queen is by my opinion done in Budapest. Not Live Aid or Wembley. This is pureness at his best.
