i mention that they have the engines off on the crj-200s in the back during the taxi out for delta's asa takeoff the united planes are mesas and they are getting rid of them returning them to the bank where they leased them from as united slimmed down mesas contract mesa i think these are going thru a C check as they await there new airline they will fly for btw if you come to the ups parking lot here are some rules

u bring it u take it any trash can blow on the airfield and will cause severe damage to the airplanes engines if ingested

no coolers or pets there are signs saying so on the fence

be respectful of police they do come around and check to make sure everyone is safe they are making sure you are not a threat to the airplanes dont have the mindset they are harrassing u for your hobby

remember using this area to take photos is a privledge not a right as it is still private property (belongs to ups shipping company)

  • it breaks my heart how few people that could easily use CAE that drive to CLT instead...

  • @peakster753 when southwest opens in spratanbug/greenville and charleston thats going to kill more traffic for CAE and cae is a good spotting airport too:(

  • I have a question, I wonder what will happen if Boeing places a plant in North Charleston. I don't really know if they already called it off or decided to place it in Georgia or North Carolina or not. Yes, I know it is only one plant, but it can put something good on the South Carolina map, and it could close the huge gap in the sun belt that covers most of South Carolina. I always though the sun belt doesn't include most of SC, because of SC's bad economy compared to other SE states.

  • @escalatorgeek881 the pant is under construction and will create 3000 new jobs for the state it is set to open next year

  • i live about 20 miles from kcae an its very busy with traffic. i have a scanner just for this airport. for those who thing it is almost dead an leave close to it get a scanner and listen in you will be surprise. if anyone wants all the freqs. for kcae let me know. theres about 20 of them.

  • @escalatorgeek881 its a major up for UPS bud. and a small sat. hub for fedex. yes you should read up on kcae.

  • It's a nice quiet airport. It's not really a hub of anything, except maybe a regional hub for at least a few shipping companies. I need to learn more about that airport. I read on the news that this airport is struggling just to get one airline, and it has lack of service (it is between the giants of Atlanta and Charlotte), and so really this airport has only regional service. My father rarely flies out of this airport, he just simply drives to either Atlanta or Charlotte and flies out of there.
