The ergot fungus growing on wild rye grass in Edinburgh, Scotland 2009.

The fungus is responsible for poisonings termed "St Anthony's Fire" and incidents of mass poisonings blamed witchcraft.

When the plant becomes infected with the ergot fungus, purple-black structures termed sclerotia grow in place of seeds. Sclerotia contain a cocktail of toxic alkaloids, some of which have medicinal uses, and others which are psychotropic toxins closely related to LSD. Symptoms of poisoning include hallucinations, constriction of blood vessels, gangrene (which can lead toloss of limbs).

  • The progenitor wept & God relented to him in consequence of that leniency are those privileged by means of the Chemistry of Religiosity-having the obscuring veils lifted manifesting New Age enlightenment inspiring the Ode to Joy-otherwise in darkness until the Grecian Illumination; those righteous dealers in psychedelics outrageous in pagan mystique leading consciousness-raising more soulful than church institutional & others camp followers free spirits at whom tyrants grit their teeth.

  • if you dont know anything about organic chemistry dont try making lsd

  • proof God does not hate LSD. He gave us the ingredients and said, learn my children.

  • MAKE SOME LSD lol

  • This is what is happening in Egypt today.

    Another version of mass hysteria.

  • During the time of the Scottish witch hunts (between 1650-1700) There is absolutely no archeological or historical data that says people even ate or grew rye in that area, which is the cereal ergot grows on. There was however ergot fungus found in the witches of the salem trials. But ergot fungus has nothing to do with people going crazy in scotland during the witch hunts.
