Every morning when we wake up and go to let Scout out of his cage, he flips out in happiness to see us. Especially when he heard Doggie coming into the room, that's when he begins screaming the loudest.

Edit: A lot of people had an issue seeing him locked in this small cage in my early videos when we first brought him home. The good news is that he never lived in that cage. I used that cage when we first brought him home but shortly after we got him a large ferret cage that he occasionally stays in. If you watch some of my most recent videos you will see that scout mainly stays out of the cage, free-roams the house, and mostly stays up late playing with me. However sometimes he'll go into his cage to sleep and loves it just as much as the next fox loves their den. Small sleeping quarters for a fox is not an issue and it makes them feel more secure. If you think about the size of a fox den in the wild, it'll make more sense to you. If foxes built big luxurious dens it would make it very easy for a predator to come inside and eat them.

If you're looking to own a fennec fox as a pet, please do all the research possible before even looking for available breeders. Fennec Foxes are huge responsibilities and require special permits in most states in the US. Some states wont even allow you to own one as a pet at all so you'll need to check with the Fish and Game wildlife committee in your state for the proper laws in exotic pet ownership. I've seen Fennec Foxes range in the price of $1000-$5000 depending on season, breeder, and location. Owning a Fennec is like having a small dog with the agility of a cat. They are also highly skittish around strangers and shy in general. If you're expecting to get one to hold and cuddle all the time, I suggest getting a cat or a dog instead. Please respect the fact that they are still wild animals and learn enough about their needs and mannerisms before thinking of owning one.

  • Hey maybe if the owner knew his fox was nocturnal abduction not keep it in a cage during the time that he is awake and active THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN

  • @freeflyer246810 You obviously know nothing about me, or the way I take care of Scout. He's out all night, and I'm up all night. And you can watch a ton of my videos where I'm up all night playing ball with him. I work at night, and work from home, so he gets to play all he wants while I'm here. This video was when we first got him, and that's definitely not the cage he stays in. He's got a whole huge ass room.

  • This is a silly question but how did you get a Fennec Fox?

  • @Blazingfire2882 From a breeder. and I got my permit from Fish and Game. Some states require a permit, some don't, some don't allow foxes as pets at all.

  • It's so cute he wags his tail like a dog would. Too awesome. I'm getting two arctic foxes in the next couple of years. they are amazing pets.

  • @ArcticWhiteWolf333 If you check out my older videos you will see I actually had an Arctic Fox as well. In this video, Scout is actually looking out the door at the other fox while he was running around the house. Arctic foxes are great, unfortunately I lost mine to Epilepsy. Good luck with yours!

  • holy fuckin christ...

breeder-so what kind of fox are you looking for?

Buyer- One that screams like a scalded demon from the depths of hell

  • aweee. anyone who thinks this is harsh is crazy. you can obviously see the fox is more than happy to be with him and his dog. and he doesn't hafto worry about predators. he's got it pretty good. as to the domesticated comment. we domesticated dogs.. the only reason its crazy is cuz we didn't do it first.

    you know whats worse?

people who keep dogs in cages outside. especially during winter.
