@Sherrib17 I've seen No Reservations first, then found out it was a remake of Bella Martha, so I watched the original. I prefer this one, I think they cut too many details from the storyline in the remake. The story in this one makes a lot more sense.

Just a great film. I saw this years ago at the london film festival. The director introduced he film and said "if you were'nt hungry now you will be after. Thanks for posting the film.

The bottom line is, when you have a movie that is clearly perfect as it is, the simple idea of a remake is suspicious. Besides, if an American remake of an Asian or African movie may make sense, inasmuch as the characters and the locations would appear more familiar to the American public, in this case the American remake was quite superfluous. The original one is shot in Germany, all the characters are Westeners... So, WHY OH WHY?
