There is something soothing about looking at trees, writes Sigmund Freud; they know neither emotions nor conflict. Arnhems venerable parc dart Sonsbèque, however, is currently home to a tree that has been pinned by a giant Game Thinking Stud (speldenknop according to the babelfish) designed by Petra Blasé. L.C. von Sukmeister is interested in the way that Inside Outside environments, such as the internet, are designed and how they influence our state of mind concerning the arts. His critique takes the form of appropriating images (and also texts_) of artists and art historians, which suggest an atmosphere of un-awkward tensions towards the legal copyrights. He does this with a minimum of means but with great sophistication, as could be seen in his digital online video gallery. With Trompe-l Oeil, a Digital Portrait of an Artistic Conceptualist the artist is breaking ground, or better, looking at the ground while inspired by Ana Maria T.s Five Secrets of the Waters (For Mnemosyne).
