Chopin Fantasie Impromptu by Pianist & Hockey Player (age 8)

Charlie Liu (http://charlie-liu.com) is a hockey player, but he was also featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Youtube Symphony Orchestra's debut in Carnegie Hall, Lang Lang's NYC Town Hall concert, etc. He learned this piece for 7 weeks by himself. Hope you like the video!

We would never mark a piece that Charlie's teacher instructed him upon as one that he learned by himself. It might be difficult for general audience (including myself) but music professionals could easily tell if a piece is learned by oneself or taught by teacher.

Beautiful and sensitive playing! Charlie is definitely one of the most talented kids. Thanks for posting the videos. I have a 7-year-old son who also started playing piano since 4 y. Yeah, this is Great! But you of course know that, but I enjoyed it a lot, once again! I couldnt see on your channel when Charlie started to play piano? Am I right when I say 4? With this talent, and that fact that he started so young, to be honest I think he could go how far he wants to if something strange dosnt happen :) I read your other comment, and I see you are modest, and of course, no one wants to say their son is a prodigy out loud, but you are one of the few that Can say it!! :)
