Ville Piippo's approach to the 18th green, the last hole in the final of the European Discgolf Championships 08 in Germany.

Leading by a shot going into the hole, Piippo (Finland, PDGA#27555) was about 70m/80/yards/240ft away and had very little to aim for, the small island green being surrounded by OB. Michael Stelzer (Germany, PDGA#8357) in second place had parked his approach 20 feet away with a perfectly measured backhand.

An OB 5 for Piippo would lose him the title, a 4 would force a playoff and a 3 would take the title.

Piippo (a former javelin thrower who only throws backhand on putts) pulled off the most incredible overhead shot through a gap that no-one had even considered a route to put it 6 feet away and secure the title.

Stunning shot.
