Kayla:scared...*nods and looks at the lake*

*thay both get up and they get into the car*

*kayla gives him directions and then they pull up to a house*
Kayla:this, this is whats wrong
*the house was old, and it looked a little burnt almost*
Nick:what?
Kayla:come on, i think the lights still work*
*kayla walks in the house, and nick can tell how scared she is*
*kayla stands in what used to be the kitchen and she turns on the lights, what she once called home, was now...nothing*
Kayla:can you hold my hand?
*nick grabs her hand, and holds on*
Nick:can you tell me?
Kayla:okay*takes a breath* this is what i used to call home.but one night changed everything.*kayla and nick sit on the floor*
Nick:go on.
Kayla:my dad came home drunk one night, and he started yelling at my mom...then he*kayla swallows*he, he hit her. *kayla starts to cry, nick takes her into his arms*
then he kept doing it...my brother and sister were asleep. i told him to stop, but he wouldnt listen *kayla's sobbing by now* and then i called the police, he got here, and then they took him...mom was hurt though...they woke up my siblings and we all went to the hospital...my grandma met us there. i seen the whole thing. *sniffs* and then i guess he just took everything and left.
Nick:oh kayla...
Kayla:*cries*
Nick:lets get out of here.
Kayla:*looks arround* nick, this used to be home. now its, nothing but horryfying memories. thats why i avoid the dark...no lights were on but the TV. i'm so scared now that he'll come back, and do something else.
Nick:thats why you're so protective over everything
Kayla:i've seen what a man can do to a woman, and what someone can do to a persons heart.
Nick:you, you don't think i'd do that do you?
