I was at 2007 KOTESOL conference, in Gwangju.
I don't recognize anyone from these photos.
Anyways, I thought that the best speaker was a Korean woman who spoke out against the forced English nick-name-ing of Korean Elementary students.
Personally, I think that learning the story of names is an important part understanding any culture. Most Korean names are actually easy to pronounce.
And why does a nickname have to be a Western name that most Korean children cannot even pronounce correctly?
