It's good to be back! Someone requested that I record this nice jig so, in between planning tomorrow's lessons, I had a go at it.

  • I don't understand how to play like that.

  • another great vid do u get alot of time to play and practice being a vicor and all

  • AMAZING. I don't know much about the tin whistle (always wanted to learn how to play but could never get it right).. but this one sounds hard to play. This is so pretty.

  • Another beautiful vid. I'm amazed that fr Ryan can remember the intricasies of so many tunes.

  • The way you do it is not important.

So long as it achieves the desired effect, and it is comfortable for you and works for you, its perfectly fine. Rules of tin whistle (or any Irish folk instrument, for that matter) playing does not stress on fingerwork, and the little technical bits here and there. What matters is your sound. Ryan is here to teach you the basics, so you can start playing immediately.

  • very goo job , i love it , please can you send me the tabs or a message with the way of meet with u to send me the tabs please ^^

  • Hurray! More videos! I've been teaching myself using your video and it's been a slow process.. i'm struggling with the rolls.

Anyways... can I request "Noel Hill's"? I believe it's also performed as "Up Against the Buachalawns" as well (and many other tunes as well).

Hope you can manage doing that song sometime :)

  • love your videos - *****

  • great! now do it in D so I can play along (just kidding!!)

one of the things i like about your style is your slides and also how you flatten notes occasionally... it's funky

But when I do slides, I find it easier to slide my finger "off", i.e. pull it back. Is that a passable technique?? (I like to cut on a slide too, but that's another story)

  • NICE!!!
