  • @rocoreb Thank you and God bless!

  • @LKashinn a layman's single act is tantamount to our (monks') thousand acts because you (laymen) do not have many spiritual chances as we monks have here. You have women, you have in laws, kids, bosses, employees, economic, social problems. You have many vices squeezing you. God might let you in with one act, while I might be left out with a thousand acts. That is important because he (Paisios) tried to encourage us to acquire filotimo by participating in the Church's Holy Sacraments. cheers

  • @LKashinn put into proper order their "logismos"=(rendition would be 'unclean flash thoughts or ideas etc that pass through our minds despite our will) with the aid of your spiritual father. Then everything would be mended. Everyone should follow a small spiritual schedule in consultation with his father. He should read, fast, hold vigil, pray for a specified time. By adopting that small 'spiritual schedule' God will grace you with more blessings than us monks. I remember he said that CONTI

  • @rocoreb "What is this filotimo father?". "It's like salt on food. Always do more than what is asked of you. If you do this, whether in your family or at work, God will guide you. Always place yourself second and put the other person before you". This is a factor that all of us should heed, both laymen and monks. So that when the other precedes us the Grace the other receives reflects back on us. He underlined that people should lead a Church life and regularly go to confession, helping CONTI

  • @LKashinn I would listen to the people who arrived at his shack, and there were people of all spiritual, ideological and social strata. Buddhist, Muslims, Atheists, Marxists. All types. I would notice how respectful he was to each one. He never asked them if the believed, whether they were Christians, or Orthodox. He treated them with such courtesy. Through discourse he would try to extract anything beneficial for the people. He would always 'we have filotimo=love of honour. They queried:CONTI

  • Could someone please supply English subtitles? Thanks!
