Having seen several Pico reef tanks on Youtube I decided to dust off my old industry reef aquaria skills and put together a Pico reef . This tank has 20watts of 50/50 Actenic/10k self ballasted compact lighting all crammed into the cookie jar lid, this was an engineering feet within itself. The only mechanical part of this system is the metered down mini Power-head pump that was mounted upsidown to the custom molded acrylic hood lens. The idea is ALL of the parts to make it run are in the hood. Th tank maintains 82-84 deg in the summer no heaters, the lights are vented on the top from holes made. All power is fed to a power distribution block so there is one cord for all fixtures. Simple stable and very happy. The Berlin method was applied as method of filtration minus the Protein Skimmer, no carbon no anything just good flow and lighting.

No bio-load is the key in this tiny ecosystem. Enjoy! Thanks go out to Brandon429 and flyboy318 for the inspiration

  • @xtrueballerx no 10gallon is retarded, get a 100, actually 1000... no wait, get a tank the size of the ocean!

Being small is the point here... anything bigger is the "retarded" option.

  • I want to copy this!

  • how often do you do a water change and what supplements do you use?

  • @TheGammerguy that great man! do u have a heater for them? im thinking of doing this too, ur vid inspired me.

do u do any water changes? add nutrients for the organisms? anything u want to tell me before i start, tht i should do? how much did it cost you?

  • @starthi there is no filtration aside from the biological breakdown of any organic matter provided by the live rock and substrate, nature is excellent at maintaining itself if things are balanced keep in mind there are no fish involved to produce ammonia.

  • how do u keep it so clean? is there a filter?

  • Awesome !

  • ok thats tight

  • guys true ballerx is a troll go look at my vid 'pico reef dynamics' and he wrote the same thing, verbatim. trolls just try to trash what they can't build, just ban his sissy ass like I did and be done with it.

  • How does you make such life? Beauty in the anemones. I want to make. Teach me how please.
