why is vermont so special/beautiful? I have never been to the states... Is it not just a got tune? or are there more to vermont than this tune?

Well, I've only been to New York and New England, but Vermont sure is beautiful... And pretty romantic too, I guess. So no wonder someone made a song celebrating its beauty. Billie's rendition is not the only one, but she sure did a good job. Soon I'll be putting Autumn in New York on Youtube. Sung by.. you guessed it... Billie.

I think that standards done by "special people" as Ella, Billie, Sinatra, can't be quoted as better or worst... Each one has his special touch, unique feeling and relation to the chords and lyrics... Don't know if its right to compare...

They are a race of pioneers who have almost beggared themselves to serve others. If the spirit of liberty should vanish in other parts of the Union, and support of our institutions should languish, it could all be replenished from the generous store held by the people of this brave little state of Vermont."

I liked this video....lot's of local color as I know it myself...but.......no moonlight in Vermont! Not even a day moon??? How bou't a re-do and get some moonlight in vt shots? I'll bet you could do it well. Start with the moon coming up full over a snow covered hill? Or somepin.
